Good Morning,
We have a wet morning again here in KY. We were in a drought for so long that it really seems strange for it to be raining so much, but we do need it. The temp is only about 46 and we won’t get out of the low 50’s today, but is going to me much better than the weekend when our highs may only be in the mid to low 30’s! We may even see some snow on Saturday. Well, it is getting close to Christmas!
Well, yesterday was a confusing day for me! I went to see the Radiologist in Berea to talk about and get ready for my radiation treatments. After talking she we felt it would be better to wait and see how well the chemo works first, since she can’t hit all the areas on my back, neck and hips. So, Christy and I headed back to Richmond. But, when we got back to Richmond, I got a call from Berea. They had talked with my Oncologist in Lexington and he wants the radiation done now on my hip and neck. So, it appears that I will head back to Berea next Tuesday to get the radiation started, but that is the same day I am supposed to get my next chemo in Lexington, so at the moment I am a little confused! I guess, doctors, like the rest of us, have their own opinions, and my two doc’s seemed to disagree, but I guess my Oncologist trumps my Radiologist.
Enough about me. Hey, we have a Christmas Cantata coming up this Sunday morning. The choir has been working hard on “The Gift Goes On!” We really hope that you will join us and bring along your family and friends. This will be a great program that you don’t want to miss. The service will begin at 10:50 a.m.
And we are also looking forward to our Christmas Eve Service on the 24th at 6 here at the church. This year the theme of the service will be “The Ornaments of Christmas!” Again, this is a great time to bring family and friends and too help us get our focus right for Christmas Day. We have about 14 various people that will be helping us out during the service. Hey, one of them may just be you or at least someone you know.
I didn’t know it, but in listening to Christy and Pat talking, I discovered that we have four new babies on the way here at the church. Man, I don’t know what is going on around here, but we are sure making good use of our nursery area and it seems that we are going to continue to do so for some time. If you would like to help out in the nursery talk with Dana Duerson and she will be glad to get you on the worker list. And no, I can’t remember who all the ladies are that are pregnant at the moment, but I have a feeling we will be able to tell before too long.
Have a Great Day in the
Lord,
Rod
